Western Autistic School

Western Autistic School (WAS) in Laverton is a specialist government-funded school delivering early-years education to around 300 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder from Foundation to Grade 3. At the heart of its approach lies a powerful commitment to individualised learning, inclusion, and personal development. With a unique blend of expert teaching and research-backed practice, WAS equips students with foundational skills that help them transition confidently into broader, integrated educational settings.

Big Picture Projection Power

We began by replacing the ageing wall-mounted projector with the Epson EB-PU2010W Large Venue Laser Projector, paired with an ELPLM15 middle-throw lens. This powerhouse delivers a dazzling 10,000 lumens of brightness—more than enough to cut through ambient light in the school’s dynamic multipurpose space. The result? Crisp, vivid visuals that bring everything from assemblies to interactive presentations to life. With WUXGA resolution and advanced laser light source technology, the projection system ensures long-term reliability, minimal maintenance, and future-ready performance. It’s a solution that doesn’t just project—it performs.

Clever Conferencing with Yealink + Shure + Biamp

For Teams calls, guest speakers, and recording sessions, we deployed the Yealink MVC960 Teams Room System—packed with dual 12x optical zoom cameras (audience and presenter views), a slick MTouch-Plus control panel, and two wireless WPP30 sharing devices. We integrated this with a Biamp Tesira Forte DSP and Shure MXW neXt 2 mic system to ensure crystal-clear audio coverage no matter the room layout. The portable table mics and presenter lanyard mic provide flexibility, mobility, and top-notch sound quality.

Magic at Your Fingertips

The old-school wall controller? Gone. We introduced an AMX NX-1200 control processor and mapped all key functions—display, audio, lighting presets—onto the Yealink’s second-page interface. Now, turning on the projector, adjusting volume, or dimming the lights is as simple as tapping the touchscreen. One panel to rule them all!

Room Ready & Raring to Go

We didn’t stop there. A new wall plate was added for hardwired connections, CBUS lighting was fully integrated into the system, and acoustic ceiling treatment using Quietspace panels was installed to reduce reverb by an estimated 50–60%. The end result? A smart, sound, and streamlined space where learning—and teaching—can shine.

Wrapping it up

At Vision One, we don’t just install tech—we design solutions that support teaching, empower staff, and excite learners. Western Autistic School’s multipurpose room is now a vibrant, future-proofed space where learning is accessible, connected, and engaging. From AV to VC to acoustic harmony, we brought the sparkle—and left the school with a system as clever as the kids who use it.
