Vision One Australia was recently appointed to fit out the new multipurpose Hall at East Doncaster Secondary College.

The 10 metre high ceilings and large space comprising of two full size basketball courts provided quite a challenge for the Vision One team. The timber flooring, glass walls, and height all of the Hall were all obstacles in finding a suitable solution for the school. However, the teams recommendations led to the installation of twelve Soundtube 125w high powered open ceiling speakers evenly distributed throughout the space.

The Soundtube speakers are all driven by an ASHLY NE series 1200w 2-channel amplifier. A custom 15RU equipment rack also houses five Chiayo STAGE series wireless microphone systems, all running through a WORK WM912 multi channel microphone mixer.

The video system is driven by an Atlona multi input/multi format switcher sending all connected signals via HDMI over Cat6 receivers/extenders to the main Hall projector. The projector is a Hitachi CPWX8265 6500 ANSI Lumens WXGA wide screen with custom lens attachment that throws a 6 metre wide image onto a Screen Technics Extra Large motorised ElectriCinema stage screen.

A Lectrum Classic series presentation lectern with gooseneck microphone and reading light can be wheeled onto the court and connected to a custom floor box to provide for PC/laptop and audio presentations when the large retractable seating area is in place.

The entire audio and video system is controlled by an RTI wireless control system using an iPad 16GB custom designed interface. The wireless iPad controller allows users the flexibility of walking freely around the Hall whilst having total control over the presentation from the palm of their hand.
